Genre and “Genring” in Music Education

In this article, I explore the theoretical and analytical potential of concept genring, which here refers to productive acts temporary interpretation signification, wherein existing classification systems genre categories in social are operationalized (re)negotiated. Foucault Butler’s theories discursive subjection serve as a framework consider how genring works performative mode action: discursive, reiterative, citational practice that establishes ontological effects truth, reality, naturalness. This action is not “discursive practice” itself; rather, it might be understood one ways discourse practices itself. To probe value take my case field music education, where seems common strategy for associating with music, people, people educational purposes.
